1. What is a SIM Card?

SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module. A SIM card is a small "smart card" for GSM/GPRS mobile phones that contains your personal account profile as well as saves important information (i.e. network information, account services, your mobile phone number, stored telephone numbers, SMS messages and more). The SIM card must be inserted in the phone AFTER ACTIVATION in order for the phone to operate. 

When in a new H2O® Wireless package, it is about the size of a bank check card or a credit card. Within, there is a small “punch-out” smart card which needs to be removed before inserting into the phone.

7. Can I pick my own phone number when I buy a new H2O® Wireless phone?

No, you cannot choose your own phone number. As our automated system finds the area code you requested and searches from a pool of numbers which are currently available in the US. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to choose a number.

8. What do I do if the phone does not work after activation and programming has been completed?

Please visit the Authorized Dealer you purchased your GSM service from or email Customer Service at customercare@h2owirelessnow.com.

9. How long does an activation take for H2O® wireless phones?

The process itself only takes a few minutes. Normally, within 1-2 hours, your H2O® Wireless phone will be ready for your use.

10. Why does my wireless phone show I’m Off-Network even though I’m in the home area?

If your phone is newly activated, ensure that enough time has been allowed for the system to activate the phone. Check to see that the airtime minutes were loaded on the phone. If the problem persists, dial 611 from your phone (this is a FREE call) or contact Customer Service from any phone at 1-800-643-4926.

11. How many bonus minutes do I get upon activation?

Depending on the plan you choose to activate with and where you have purchased our H2O® Wireless product from, the bonus minutes will vary. Basics

1. How do I make a phone call?

To make a phone call, enter the 10-digit phone number of the person you are trying to reach. You are required to enter the 10-digit phone number even if you have the same area code or are in the same vicinity of the person/place you are calling. (H2O® Wireless does not charge extra for the domestic long distance.

2. How do I change volume during a call?

Use the volume keys on the side of the phone to raise or lower the volume during a call.

3. How do I save numbers to my phone?

Instructions may be different per phone, so if these steps do not work for you, please refer to your phone user manual.Press 'Contacts'Select Add New EntryPress 'OK'Input contact's name and press 'OK'Scroll to the number fieldPress 'OK'Input the phone numberPress 'OK'Repeat steps 5 - 8 to enter additional numbers for the same contact name4. 5. I changed my phone but how do I keep all my contacts?

Please save the contacts to your H2O® Wireless SIM card, not to your phone. This way, all you have to do when you get a new phone is to remove your H2O® Wireless SIM card from your old phone to your new phone.

When you are on a phone call and someone calls you, you will be alerted with an audio (i.e. ringtone) and visual alert (i.e. blinking screen) of the incoming call. You can answer the second call while keeping your first call active by pressing the  key on your phone or by following the instructions displayed on your phone. At this moment, you will be able to switch back and forth between the two calls in progress. Please refer to your Phone manual for more details.

There's no additional charge to use the Call Waiting feature, however you will be charged standard rates for both calls while you are connected to both calls. 

For example, if you are on H2O® Wireless MINUTE or DAY plan and you are talking to a friend, you are being charged for that call at whatever per minute rate your plan offers. If you answer a second call without dropping the first call, you will be charged twice your rate since you are on two calls at the same time. 

If you are on the H2O® Wireless MONTH plan, we currently do not offer Call Waiting feature.

12.What is Caller ID?

Caller ID shows you the phone number of most incoming calls. If you don’t want to answer your wireless phone and you have Voicemail, you can let the incoming call roll to your Voicemail box. Caller ID works whenever your phone is on. It even works when Call Waiting alerts you of an incoming call. Per Call Blocking allows you to selectively block the presentation of your wireless phone number.

13. How do I use Caller ID (block my wireless phone number from appearing)?Enter *67 Phone Number you are calling and press  .Your number will show up as "anonymous" on the receiver’s Caller ID14. How much does a 411 call cost?

Direct dialing of 411 (Directory Assistance) is $3.00 per call plus your standard rate per minute if you have H2O® Wireless MINUTE or DAY plan. If you have H2O® Wireless MONTH plan, a direct dialing to 411 is currently unavailable. 

However, you can get directory assistance at no additional charge (only pay your standard rate per minute, completely free if you have H2O® Wireless MONTH plan) by dialing 1-800-goog411 or 1-800-free411.

15. How do I change my phone?

You will need to ensure the new phone is an AT&T and FCC approved GSM 850/900/1900, dual, tri, or quad-band, unlocked GSM Phone that can be used for activations on H2O® Wireless GSM. Simply take the SIM card from your current phone and insert it in your new phone. You can now use your new phone as you normally would.

16. How do I set speed dial for one of my contacts?

As the steps may vary depending on your phone model, please refer to your phone user manual for details. 

Find the contact in your Phone Book by selecting Menu → Contacts → Find Name. Highlight the contact you want and press OK. Then select OPTIONS and press OK. Choose SPEED DIALING and a number will be assigned to the contact you chose. Press OK to assign that number and you will now be able to call the contact by press-hold that one number instead of 10 digits.

Voicemail

1. How do I set up my voicemail?Dial your wireless phone number from your wireless phone or any other touch-tone phone.Follow the prompts and select 1 for English or 2 for Spanish.The system will ask you to enter your personal pass code. (think of an easy to remember pass code and enter it when prompted)The system will prompt you to record your own personal greeting or to select a standard greeting.After hearing, "the person who you are calling has a voicemail that has not been set up yet, goodbye" interrupt this greeting by holding down the *key

This depends on how you set up your voicemail initially. If you selected 2 for Spanish then your voicemail will in Spanish. If you would like to change your language selection, you can do so by resetting your voicemail settings. Please call your voicemail and follow the prompts to reset your settings.

7. How do I send calls directly to my voicemail?

To send an incoming call to voicemail, press the ‘end call’ key (normally marked in red) on your phone. Some phones will display an option to send to voicemail as well. If this appears, highlight that option and press ‘OK.’

 Messaging

1. How do I use Text Messaging?

Text Messaging allows you to send or receive short alphanumeric messages (up to 150 characters in length) using your wireless phone. For instructions on receiving and sending text messages or to check to see if your phone has 2-way text messaging capability, please refer to your phone manual or see your dealer. 

For H2O® Wireless MINUTE plan: The first text message you send or receive each day (12am – 11:59pm local time) will be billed at the standard rate (10¢). Every text message sent or received thereafter (up until 11:59pm local time that same day) will be billed at the discounted rate (5¢). 

For H2O® Wireless DAY plan: During the weekdays, the first text message you send or receive each day (12am – 11:59pm local time) will be billed at the standard rate (10¢). Every text message sent or received thereafter (up until 11:59pm local time that same day) will be billed at the discounted rate (5¢). During the nights and weekends, as long as your $1 day charge is paid, all text messages are free. 

For H2O® Wireless MONTH plan: ALL text messages are free.

2. How do I switch between words, letters and numbers when writing a text message?

Changing text entry settings varies by phone. If these steps don't work for you, please refer to your Phone user manual. 

All you have to do is change your text entry setting. Each phone type will use slightly different words to describe text entry settings. Most phones use 'ABC' mode' or 'Alpha' to mean one letter at a time, and "Word" to mean predictive text entry.While you are entering text into a message, click on the 'Menu' key.Scroll to and select the new text entry type.Click 'OK.'3. How do I send a text message from my computer?

To send a text message to another H2O® Wireless customer from email, place your friend's 10-digit H2O® Wireless phone number followed by @txt.att.net in the "To" or address field. 

For Example: If your wireless number is (555) 123-4567, your e-mail address is 5551234567@txt.att.net.

To send text messages from your email to friends who have service with other carriers, you would typically enter the email address as the 10 digit phone number of the person you want to send a message to, followed by the carrier's address. 

If they reply, their message will go straight to your email inbox.

4. Can I block text messages?

Instructions will be different per phone so please refer to your phone user manual for more details. 
Yes, you can usually block up to 10 telephone numbers or email addresses from sending text messages to you.

5. How do I delete a text message?

The method to delete a text message can vary by phone. Please refer to your phone user manual for details. 

Highlight the message in your Inbox and press Options -> Erase or open a message and select Options -> Erase. Then, select Yes at the prompt. To erase ALL of the messages in a folder, Select Menu -> Messaging -> Erase Msgs. Choose the folder that you wish to clear and select Yes at the prompt.

6. How can I retrieve a text message that has been deleted?

Once a text message has been deleted, it cannot be retrieved from the system or the phone itself.

7. How much does it cost to send an international text message using my H2O® Wireless phone?MONTH Plan: International Text messages are unlimited to send and receive. For details, click here.DAY Plan: With H2O® Wireless DAY plan, both domestic and international text messages are unlimited to send and receive during your Unlimited Nights and Unlimited Weekends. During the weekdays’ daytime, the rates are same as the MINUTE plan.MINUTE Plan: The first international text message you send or receive each day (12am – 11:59pm local time) will be billed at the standard rate of 10¢. There are a couple of things that can cause your phone to stop sending or receiving messages. Many of them can be fixed by performing one or more of the followings:Check your account balance: If you're not on H2O® Wireless MONTH plan, you may just need to add money to your account in order to restore your text/MMS messaging service.Use the area code: You must use the area code and phone number when sending a message.Keep your flip phone open: Phones that flip open and close must remain open while the text message is being sent. If you close the phone while it's still sending, your messages will not be sent.Clean out your Sent and Inbox: The messages that you receive and send are stored on your phone and can take up space! Keeping them can interfere with your ability to send or receive additional messages. Check your phone user guide for instructions on how to delete messages.If this does not work, email customer service at customercare@h2owirelessnow.com.

 

H2O® Wireless MONTH

1. What's not included in H2O® Wireless MONTH?

Additional services such as direct dialing to 411 directory assistance and international calls, incidentals and premium messaging services are not included in the H2O® MONTH plan. Click here for details on what is included in the H2O® MONTH plan.

2. How much does it cost to send an international text message using my H2O® Wireless phone?

When we said UNLIMITED, we meant it. International Text messages are unlimited to send and receive.

3. Can I send/receive picture, audio or video messages internationally?

No, currently we only offer international text messaging.

4. Does H2O® Wireless MONTH plan charge sales taxes on its phones and/or plans?

No, H2O® Wireless does not charge any sales taxes on any of its phones and/or plans.

5. Is H2O® Wireless MONTH plan right for me?

H2O® Wireless MONTH plan is the best option if you talk and text a lot. You get all the benefits of the unlimited plans out there but you are NOT bound by annual contracts! To explore all our plans, click here.

H2O® Wireless DAY

1. What happens if I do not have enough money to cover my $1 daily access fee?

If you don't have enough money to cover your $1 daily access fee, your services will be interrupted until you add money to your account again.

2. What if my account balance reaches $0 in the middle of the day?

If your $1 daily access fee has already been paid, but your account balance hits $0 during the day (due to usage of daytime calling or text messaging), your daytime services will be interrupted until you add money to your account again. However, you will be able to continue your service during the nighttime for that day. You will have 30 days to add money to your account or your account will be canceled.

3. I sent a text message at 0:10AM Eastern Standard Time and my $1 daily access fee has not been deducted yet. Why is this?

Please note that your $1 daily access fee is charged based on Central Standard Time which means depending on where you are, the $1 daily access fee will deduct at different times.

4. What if I do not add money to my account?

If you do not add money to your account at least once every 30 days, you will lose any balance on your account and your services will be interrupted. Anytime you reach a $0 balance, you have 30 days to add money to your account before your account is canceled.

5. Are calls to my voicemail free on the H2O® Wireless DAY plan?

You will not be charged for calls to your voicemail, as long as you've paid your $1 daily access fee.

6. When do Unlimited Nights and Weekends start?

Unlimited Nights are Mon ~ Fri 9:01pm – 6:59am and Weekends are Fri 9:01pm ~ Mon 6:59am respectively.

7. Can I send messages from the U.S. to other countries?

Yes you can as long as you're in a coverage area. International messaging rates vary by plan.

8. How much does it cost to send an international text message using my H2O® Wireless Day Plan?

International Text messages are 5¢/message to send. With H2O® Wireless DAY plan, both domestic and international text messages are unlimited to send and receive during your Unlimited Nights and Unlimited Weekends.

9. Can I send messages while traveling outside the U.S.?

You can send and receive text messages from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

 H2O® Wireless MINUTE

1. When do I need to recharge or add money to my account?

You will need to add money to your account at least once every 90 days and you will need to add money to your account anytime your account balance reaches $0.

2. How much are calls to my voicemail?

If you use your H2O® Wireless phone to access your voicemail your call will be rated like any other call you make. The rate per minute will vary (5¢ to 14¢).

3. What if my account balance reaches $0?

Once your account balance reaches $0, your services are interrupted (except calls to 911). You will have 30 days from that time to add money to your account or your account will be canceled and you will lose your phone number.

4. Can I make international calls?

Yes. You have 2 options to call internationally with H2O® Wireless MINUTE plan. You may dial directly to your destination number or configure our International Calling number to take advantage of our competitive rates to 53 pre-select countries. To dial directly, all you need to do is have enough money in your account to cover the international rate plus your standard airtime rate.

5. Can I send messages from the U.S. to other countries?

Yes you can as long as you're in a coverage area. International messaging rates vary by plan.

6. How much does it cost to send an international text message using my H2O® Wireless phone?

MINUTE Plan: International Text messages are only 5¢/message to send and to receive with the exception of the first message of the day which is 10¢.

7. Can I send/receive picture, audio or video messages internationally?

No, currently we only offer international text messaging.

8. How much does it cost to make international calls?

The cost to make an international call is the standard airtime (per minute) charge plus the per-minute International Rate for the country you are calling. Check out our international rates page for a list of countries and rates. The rates are subject to change without prior notice so be sure to periodically check online.

Example 1: If you're a H2O® Wireless MINUTE ($39.99) customer and make a call to a landline in Mexico City, your rate is 5¢/minute standard airtime, PLUS the 2¢/minute international rate for Mexico City. Therefore, your call would cost 7¢/minute. However, if you set up H2O® Wireless International Calling feature, your international rate for Mexico City will be waived. Therefore, your call would cost 5¢/minute.

Example 2: If you're a H2O® Wireless MINUTE ($20) customer and make a call to a landline in Mexico City, your rate is 14¢/minute standard airtime, PLUS the 2¢/minute international rate for Mexico City. Therefore, your call would cost 16¢/minute. However, if you set up H2O® Wireless International Calling feature, your international rate for Mexico City will be waived. Therefore, your call would cost 14¢/minute.

9. Can I send messages while traveling outside the U.S.?

You can send and receive text messages from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

10.Can I receive a message from someone who is located outside the U.S.?

For H2O® Wireless MINUTE & DAY plan users, upon completion of every call you make or receive and every text message you send or receive, your remaining balance will automatically appear in your phone’s display.

2. Where can I purchase more airtime?

To buy more airtime visit your nearest H2O® Wireless GSM Authorized Dealer, shop online or call 1-800-643-4926. If you can’t find a store in your area, dial 611  from your phone (this is a FREE call), use our Store Locator, or contact Customer Service from any phone at 1-800-643-4926 and they’ll help you locate a dealer.

3. How do I check my account balance from my phone for FREE?

Simply dial *777#  and you’ll receive a message, in your phone’s display, indicating the remaining balance. If you need assistance, please dial 611  from your phone (this is a FREE call).

4. How do I find out the usage on my phone since the last airtime card was added?

Dial 611  from your phone (this is a FREE call) and provide the mobile number and IMEI that you want to see the call detail for.

5. How do I know when my monthly plan expires?

You can check the expiration anytime by dialing *777 you’re your phone, check online, and you will also get daily notification to your phone 5 days before the expiration date to remind you to add money to your account.

6. How long do I have to add money into my account once my account is expired?

Your H2O® Wireless’ MINUTE and DAY plan phone number expires in 30 days and H2O® MONTH plan phone number expires in 30 days if you do not replenish your account.

 Auto Recharge

1. What is an Auto Recharge?

Auto Recharge is like a room service at a hotel. Register a credit/debit card, choose which way you'd like to Auto Recharge, and we'll automatically add airtime to your account based on the settings you've chosen.

For MINUTE plans: pick from $10, $20, $29.99 or $40 - and we'll add it to your account (1) once every week, or (2) once every 2 weeks, or (3) once every 29 days. You’ll receive 10% additional bonus if you sign up for our Auto Recharge!

For DAY plans: pick from $10, $20 or $40 - and we'll add it to your account (1) once every week, or (2) once every 2 weeks, or (3) once every 29 days. You’ll receive 10% additional bonus if you sign up for our Auto Recharge!

For MONTH plan: pick $49.99 and we’ll add it to your account once every 29 days.

2. Why should I sign up for Auto Recharge?

1. Is there a fee to transfer my old phone number to my new H2O® Wireless phone?

No, it is absolutely free to transfer your old phone number. And plus, H2O® Wireless is a no-contract service so there are no early termination fees.

2. How long will it take to transfer my old phone number to my new H2O® Wireless phone?

We’ll move your number to H2O® Wireless as fast as possible. Right now, moving a wireless phone number to H2O® Wireless can take up to 3 days -- moving a land-line number can take up to 5 days.

The actual time to move a number depends on a few things -- your old provider, the demand for portability, and the accuracy of information. Once your number is ready to use on our network, we will call you or leave a voicemail letting you know that you are good to go.

If you don’t wish to wait for your old number to be switched over, you can always get a new H2O®Wireless number almost in an instant.

3. I transferred airtime to my phone, but the minutes are not showing in my account. What should l do?

Contact Customer Service at 1-800-643-4926 and provide your mobile number and the PIN and serial number on the airtime card you are attempting to transfer to your account.

6. If I move, do I have to change my H2O® Wireless phone number?

You can change your number but it is not necessary because all our plans include nationwide calling with no additional domestic roaming charges. However, if you must, please refer to below for details.

We can take measures to protect your active account balance as soon as you call in, and get you up and running again. Once you report to H2O® Wireless Customer Service that your phone is lost or stolen, you will have 30 days to replace your phone, otherwise your account will automatically cancel and you will lose any money you had left in your account.

8. How do I disconnect my mobile phone?

9. How do I cancel my H2O® Wireless service?

If you're not happy with your service and you would like to cancel your account, all you have to do is walk away. Your H2O® Wireless account will cancel on its own. I feel we should change this wording and have them contact customer service, on many occasions customers want to cancel the service for an issue that can be easily resolved.

1. What is H2O® Broadband?

H2O® Broadband is no-contract, prepaid wireless data service that connects you to high-speed internet on a mobile broadband-capable USB device through our Nationwide LARGEST GSM wireless network. H2O® Broadband works on desktops, tablets, netbooks, and laptops.

2. How is mobile broadband different from WiFi?

With mobile broadband, you can access internet ANYTIME and ANYWHERE only in the U.S. and Puerto Rico whereas WiFi requires you to purchase internet access or provide user log-in. H2O® Broadband uses 3G services, average download speeds up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5.76 Mbps.

3. How does the H2O® Broadband service work?

Airtime cards can be either purchased online (H2OBroadband.com/activate) or by phone (1-800-550-6403). DAY, WEEK and MONTH passes are available. Each session has a time and data limit associated with it (e.g. 1 month/1 GB), and users can access the Web until either the time or data limit is reached. The user is then required to purchase a new Data card.

6. Do H2O® Broadband data rollover?

Unfortunately, it does not rollover. The data expires with the time associated with each plan (e.g. DAY/24 hours, WEEK/7days, MONTH/30days). Also, in the case where two data cards are purchased, the first data card needs to expire FIRST in order for the next one to start.

1. What is the difference between Data/Pin Card and Airtime Card?

Both terms are the same; however, they are different from SIM Cards. Data/Pin and Airtime Cards contain the amount of data that is used for limited periods of time and used to recharge H2O®Broadband service. We often use the terms interchangeably.

This means that you cannot attach any files/documents such as Word, Excel, PDF, and etc; plain text only.
